RESOURCES

From time to time, SURJ Creates toolkits for our members to take specific action or build key organizing skills. Check out our Stop Cop City toolkit, our Scarcity to Solidarity Toolkit with resources on how to talk with people to organize them away racist, scarcity-based ideologies, and our Defund the Police toolkit.

Empowering Youth

Educational Programs: Our tutoring and mentorship initiatives have supported over 500 students in their academic journeys, resulting in a 25% increase in high school graduation rates among participants. We have awarded $150,000 in scholarships to help students pursue higher education.

Youth Leadership: Our youth leadership programs have engaged over 300 young individuals, providing them with essential skills in public speaking, community organizing, and project management. These leaders have initiated 20 community service projects in the last year alone.

Strengthening Families

Family Support Services: We provide vital resources to families in need, serving over 1,200 families annually. Our food assistance programs distribute 50,000 pounds of food each month, ensuring families have access to nutritious meals.

Workshops and Resources: Our family workshops have reached 800 participants, covering topics such as parenting skills, financial literacy, and health education, helping families build resilience and improve their quality of life.

Reaching the Community

Volunteer Engagement: Our volunteer programs have mobilized over 350 local residents, contributing 2,000 hours of service to various community projects. Together, we have completed 15 neighborhood clean-up campaigns and beautified 10 local parks.

Cultural Events: We celebrate the diverse cultures of Sonoma County through festivals and art shows that attract over 5,000 attendees annually, promoting understanding and appreciation among different communities.
